Heading in the Right Direction

A first starter showed he could become a more than capable galloper by overcoming difficulties to score a brave win at Devonport on Sunday.
Mr. West gave rider Troy Baker an uncomfortable sit when his saddle shifted backward just after the start of the race.
Co-trainer Imogen Miller was happy and relieved after the race. “I thought he toughed it out pretty good, when Troy got back and we saw where the saddle was, that obviously wasn’t easy and made Troy’s job a little more difficult, so yeah, he did a nice job,” Miller said. “He didn’t have it easy, headed coming around the home turn, and he fought on really well.”
Prior to his run, Mr. West had trialled well on the grass in Hobart but the transfer of the meeting to Devonport held no fears for Miller.
